The world
SALTLINE
A decommissioned harbour district twenty years on — analogue bones with modern tech bolted on, ruled by salt and drizzle. A self-contained world: two identity-locked characters (a wiry courier, a heavyset broker) with full casting sheets, three locations (harbour front, back-room, transit underpass), a pack cover, and character-in-location key art. Grounded and lived-in - no neon, no holograms, no flying cars. Prompts + models included.

Character:
A low-key studio portrait of one consistent heavyset man in his fifties on a plain mid-grey seamless backdrop, squared to camera and looking straight down the lens, waist-up, still and unhurried. Three things define him: a milky, clouded blind left eye; a close-cropped grey beard over heavy jowls; and a heavy charcoal oilcloth coat with a stiff upturned collar.
A broad, weathered face — deep-set eyes (the right dark and clear, the left clouded pale), a heavy brow, a fleshy nose with broken capillaries, thick grey stubble climbing the cheeks, deep folds at the mouth. Ruddy, sun- and salt-worn skin with real texture — open pores, a few liver spots, deep weathered creases. Calm, patient, faintly amused. No glamour.
Wardrobe, locked for the world: a heavy charcoal oilcloth coat, weatherproofed and salt-marked, worn over a dark knitted collar; steel-rimmed half-moon reading glasses pushed up onto the brow; a single heavy signet ring. Everything worn-in and functional, never showroom.
A single soft key rakes in from camera-left, carving deep, detailed chiaroscuro across the face — the shadow side rich and readable, cool where a faint blue fill catches it, the clouded eye catching a soft highlight. Shot on medium-format digital with an 80mm lens at f/2.8, fine natural grain, a muted desaturated palette leaning cold, grounded near-future realism, natural unretouched skin texture with pores sharp, 3:4 portrait framing. A solitary plain mid-grey seamless backdrop, empty of props and watermarks, no text or logos anywhere.
Environment:
A wide, eye-level establishing shot of a working harbour front in a lived-in near future, under a low overcast maritime sky and a fine constant drizzle. Stacks of salt-streaked shipping containers recede into the haze; salt-corroded gantry cranes stand over the quay, their old steel retrofitted with bolted-on control panels, taped cabling and cheap flat displays glowing weakly. A cold grey sea slaps against the concrete quay in the mid-ground, and warm sodium floods pool under the crane gantries against all the cold grey-blue. Puddles hold soft broken reflections; rust bleeds down the concrete and steel.
The near foreground — wet concrete quay — is left open and uncluttered. Everything is weathered, repaired and functional: lived-in, not derelict, and never showroom-clean.
Shot on medium-format digital with a 35mm lens at f/2.8, overcast maritime light, a low-key grade of cold grey-blue against warm sodium with muted rust accents, real weathered concrete, steel and salt-corroded metal, fine grain, volumetric drizzle haze, grounded near-future realism in the practical tradition of Denis Villeneuve, 16:9. No neon spectacle, no holographic signage, no flying cars, no legible text in frame.
