Camel Driven Gerald

Gerald is an animal first and an alien second - a big, stooping, camel-muzzled creature with wide-set amber eyes, horizontal goat pupils and a short dust-fawn fleece worn bare at the elbows, dressed in an institutional boiler suit nobody ever issued him. He moves slowly and speaks in a deep, gravel-worn old voice with a faint bleat under it, landing every consonant like someone who learned the language properly and is quietly disappointed that nobody else did. He is patient, sincere and entirely without vanity, which is exactly what makes him funny: put him in any scene at all and he will play it completely straight.
